Southbend S36D Description

Capable of cooking multiple products at once, the Southbend S36D S-series restaurant range features six clog-resistant burners. Each is equipped with a rugged cast iron grate that spreads heat evenly and stays hot when food is added. Underneath the burners are removable crumb trays that catch grease and debris, keeping the top clean. On the front of the unit, a 4-inch-deep, stainless steel rail enables staff to season foods or set down plates and pans momentarily.

The base of the Southbend S36D gas range contains a standard oven, which is heated with a 35,000-BTU, U-shaped burner. For increased energy efficiency, the oven's top and four sides are insulated with dense rock wool. This design, along with the snap-action thermostat, maintains the interior temperature at a set level between 175 and 550 degrees Fahrenheit. As a safety precaution, this range comes with a flame failure safety device that cuts off the flow of gas if the pilot light goes out. The enameled oven interior is simple to clean and, because 6-inch legs lift the base, crumbs underneath the range can be swept out.
